50 Arda Transau women were empowered in semi-intensive fish farming and community-based conservation of threatened ecosystems. The women were theoretically and practically trained on how to keep and breed tilapia bream fish. Each woman was supplied with a pick and ashovel to construct a 1.5m x 1.5m x 2m fish pond. They were also supplied with damliners,1000 tilapia fingerlings,solar pump,water pipes, solar panels, and cover nets to protect from predators. The beneficiaries used tap water,wells and river water as their source of water to fill and refill the ponds. For environmental conservation, each woman was given 10 trees (7 fruit and 3 shade trees) which consists of Mango,lemon,kenyan croton,jacaranda and peaches to plant within their households.
